SAP Convergent Charging (5.0 SP5)

By Marius Tack, SAP BRIM consultant

Do you want to know whats new in CC5 SP5? Read this article!

Today we would like to a have look at the brand-new support package for SAP Convergent Charging (5.0 SP5). Quite interesting are a couple of new Fiori apps around range table classes and an additional integration scenario with SAP S/4 Hana Cloud for Contract Accouting and Invoicing.

New Fiori Apps within Convergent Charging Cockpit
The well-known Core tool is still alive, but we are happy to see, that more and more features are available as an app. As UI SAP has used the so-called SAP Quartz light theme, based on SAP Fiori 3. For the future I hope for a core cool classic theme 😉

In the past the focus was on mapping tables, the new apps are now around the maintenance of range tables and chargeable item classes.

These apps are available now:
· Manage range table classes
· Manage range tables
· Manage Chargeable item classes

All apps can search for the respective object, display the object and perform the regular CRUD operations. Within the manage range tables app there is a feature to import and export data based on a CSV file.

Quite helpful is a new feature which introduces a kind of draft lifecycle, this means in case of a session expiry or a user sign out, you don’t loose your work. Its save as a draft and you can continue working later.

Integration-Scenario SAP S/4 Hana Cloud for Contract Accounting and Invoicing
For CC deployment a new integration scenario is available now. The idea behind is to link a CC instance with SAP S/4 Hana cloud for Contract Accounting and Invoicing by using webservices. All the communication is managed by them. We want to point out, that this includes the creation of BITs in the cloud version of CI by using a webservice. From our point of view this offers very interesting business opportunities especially in combination with the immediate billing and invoicing capabilities of Convergent Invoicing!

Other changes
· Improved memory management, especially for rating context objects
· Simplification of SAP CC deployment with a SAP ASE database
